Zap, originally created as a showcase for Robert Crumb's work, became seminal to the burgeoning underground comix scene of the late 1960s. Contributors to later issues included Rick Griffin (credited as an inspiration for Zap), Victor Moscoso, S. Clay Wilson, Gilbert Shelton, Robert Williams, and "Spain" Rodriguez. This first issue includes Crumb's beloved character, Mr. Natural.
Acquired from a Bay Area collector of underground psychedelic comics active in the early 70s, single owner, minimally read, stored safely since original purchase. Sleeved and archival cardboard-backed.
Minimal wear to spine, minimal age toning to pages, minor soiling to front panel, no oxidization to staples, tips are sharp, interior is clean.
