Gibson, Ralph. The Somnambulist (New York: Lustrum Press, 1970).
English, Very Good, SC, 4to, 12 1/4" x 8 1/2," unpaginated, 52 pp., including plates.
ISBN: 0912810092

Black paper wrappers with white lettering to spine. Covers have slight wear to edges and tips and light rubbing, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages have light age toning, else pristine and intact. Principally black-and-white printed photographs. A textless catalogue showing the work of Ralph Gibson (b. 1939), an American photographer. This catalogue is almost exclusively composed of black-and-white plates showing photos taken by Gibson. The subjects vary and include portraits (nude and clothed), abstract compositions, still lifes, and landscapes. As suggested by an introductory narrative, these surreal photos evoke the world of the titular, unnamed "somnambulist" who walks between dream and reality.
