Dark green cloth-covered boards in a dark blue cloth-covered slipcase. Gilt lettering on front cover and book spine. Top edge stained green for decoration. Slipcase has original tipped-in title label with color illustration on one panel, else no lettering. Covers have minuscule surface wear, else pristine and intact, binding tight, sharp tips. Slipcase has moderate edge wear, slight offsetting, and a chip and a few bumps on edges of title label, else clean and intact. Pages have minor age toning and a former owner's inscription crossed out in black marker on front free endpaper, else pristine and intact. Replete with color plates of birds, 47 in total. A beautiful field guide of American songbirds. Birds are grouped by season, namely, "winter birds," "early spring birds," and "later spring arrivals." Each bird has a brief description of its appearance, song, habitat, range, and other attributes. Authored by Alice E. Ball with illustrations by Bruce Horsfall.
