Notes: Very Good 17" x 23" newsprint newspaper center folded to 11 1/2" x 17" and folded again as issued. Some age toning, very minimal closed tears to deckle edges, otherwise clean, and unmarked throughout. Replete with black-and-white photographs and artwork. Lot of five issues includes: 1971 Vol. 1 No. 3: features on childcare and women and war, Vol. 1 No. 2: features on Angela Davis and Jane Fonda, Vol. 1 No. 9: features on racism and sexism at Attica, Shirley Chisholm, and Angela Davis, Vol. 1 No. 10: features on women in prison, Zelda Fitzgerald, and Shirley Wheeler; 1971-72 Vol. 1 No. 11-12: features on the abortion march, marriage and welfare. The Women's Press was produced by the Women's Press Collective in Eugene, Oregon from 1970 to 1997 and discussed the issues of women's liberation including sexual discrimination and assault, childcare, abortion, the treatment of women in prisons, women in politics, protests, and actionable instruction for home-based feminism.
