Goodman, Alexander [George Haimsohn]. washington D.C.: Guild Press, 1966. Good + staplebound softcover 8vo, 5” x 7”, 119 pp.

Good + first edition octavo with cover design by Vic Lester, green, yellow, and white wraps. Considerable shelfwear, scuffing to back cover, but no oxidation, tightly bound. Text in English, 119 pp. + one page ad, black-and-white photos throughout. A semi-fictional portrait of the vibrant queer underground culture that flourished on Fire island in the 60s. Written by George Haimsohn who wrote several successful off-Broadway musicals that aided the careers of Ann Margaret and Bernadette Peters. Fire Island is one of many gay stories that Haimsohn wrote under the pen name Alexander Goodman. Considered to be a classic in LGBTQ+ underground literature. Scarce in the trade.
