8" x10" black-and-white photograph of Allen Ginsberg lighting a cigarette. Reprinted from the original negative in 2001, signed by Canadian photographer, comic book writer, and illustrator David Boswell. In black ink on the back, "Allen Ginsberg, Vancouver Canada, Saturday 25 November, 1978" at the top and "photo and print by David Boswell, November 2001" on the bottom right corner. Some waffling, a smudge and some toning to back, front is pristine, protected in Mylar. Boswell is a celebrated Canadian artist known for his comics and a famous photo of Leonard Cohen. Ginsberg visited Vancouver, headlined readings for Warren Tallman's Vancouver Poetry Centre in November of 1978, where the famous Beat Poet performed an interpretation of William Blake, "Punk Rock You're My Big Cry Baby," and "Plutonian Ode." Visible on Ginsberg's cuff is the monogram FBH. Scarce.
