Established in 1535, the Ursulines are a teaching order of nuns governed by the Rule of St. Augustine, the oldest monastic rule in the Western Church. This specific volume contains the Constitutions for the Ursuline Congregation of Bordeaux founded in 1606. An approval by Pope Paul V dated 1618 precedes the text, w/ an additional approval by the Archbishop of Cambray dated 1660 included at rear. Scarce in the trade.
