The Story of Reynard the Fox is a satirical medieval tale featuring a cunning trickster fox who uses wit and deceit to critique social hierarchy, hypocrisy, and survival in human society. This edition is enriched by Fritz Eichenberg’s powerful wood engravings, while the involvement of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe—one of Germany’s most influential writers—underscores the story’s lasting cultural and literary significance.

The Limited Editions Club was founded by publisher George Macy in 1929 with goal of delivering a monthly fine press edition of great works in literature, religion, history, philosophy, and poetry. The press worked with some of the best printers in the US and Europe, and sought the best artists to illustrate runs of 1500 or 2000 copies. Amatoria has acquired ~100 Limited Edition Club titles, to see more, visit the collection on our website.
