Pages have light age toning, a dampstain on front free endpaper, and some offsetting affecting two pages of the Index from a laid-in newspaper article. Black-and-white plates, including three folding maps, included. One piece of ephemera laid in: a blue and white 1993 folding road map showing "Calaveras and Tuolumne County Communities." Fascinating printed collection of diary entries and letters kept by John Doble, a California miner. He describes his experiences as a miner in places such as Mokelumne Hill, Jackson, Volcano, and San Francisco.
