Slipcase has a brown leather label with gilt lettering tipped in on one side. Covers have fading along spine, faint rubbing and surface scratches, and slight wear to extremities, else clean and intact, binding tight. Slipcase has slight fading, some offsetting, small indentation on one side, and moderate wear to extremities, else clean and intact. Pages have some shelf wear near fore-edge of text block, else pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color. A beautiful book containing a biography of Frederic Remington and a catalog of many of his works. Frederic Remington (1861-1909) was an American painter, sculptor, illustrator, and author who became well-known for his paintings of the American West. Stylizing himself as a "cowboy artist," Remington became one of the most successful artists of his time, capitalizing on public interest in Western Americana when the days of the Old West were fading. Among the subjects he painted were Indigenous Peoples, military battles, and desert landscapes.
