Notes: Good, 8vo, 8 1/4" x 5 1/2." Text in French. Rebacked with original (or contemporary) brown leather spine tipped in on cloth. Green, blue, and beige paper-covered boards backed with brown cloth. Gilt lettering on red leather spine label. Covers have rebacked spine, moderate rubbing to front and back, moderate wear to edges and tips, and slight loosening to inner hinges, else clean and intact, binding still strong and holding. Title page is trimmed at bottom and pages have light age toning, occasional former owner's annotations, a former owner's black-and-white illustrated bookplate with printed lettering ("Bibliotheca Lindesiana"), and moderate foxing throughout, else pages clean and intact. Black-and-white illustrated decorations included. Also included are two pages of French handwritten notes in fine, cursive lettering about marble statues on back flyleaf. 708 pp., including decorations. A dictionary of brief artist biographies from A-Z. The biographies describe nineteenth-century French artists from a variety of disciplines including painting, sculpture, architecture, printing, drawing, lithography, and music. Authored by "Ch.
