Published on the occasion of an exhibition that showed at the John Berggruen Gallery of San Francisco from September 9-October 30, 2010. The show featured the paintings of Christopher Brown (b. 1951), an American artist associated with the Neo-Expressionist movement. He is perhaps best-known for his semi-abstract paintings that blur the dichotomy between figuration and abstraction. Brown's signature paintings often feature repeating patterns, motion blur effects, and shapes that melt into and emerge from one another. Contains an interview between Christopher Brown and Jesse Hamlin. Acquired from the private library of photorealist, Robert Bechtle and art historian, Whitney Chadwick. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
