Peter Beard (1938-2020) was an American photographer, collage artist, and documentarian of African wildlife. Beard incorporated a number of media in his collages such as photos, newspaper clippings, diary entries, found objects, and even blood (animal, and occasionally, his own). Many of his collages speak out against the hunting of Africa's animal species and document their fragile existence amid urbanization and human encroachment.
