Very Good gray cloth-covered boards. Covers have light age toning, else pristine and intact, binding tight, sharp tips. Very Good beige paper dust jackets with black and red lettering on spines. Dust jackets have light to moderate age toning (more apparent on spines) and a few tiny dampstains and Vol. I has a few small indentations, else clean and intact, not price-clipped. Pages have light age toning and Vol. I has a former owner's inscription in black ink at bottom of front free endpaper, else pristine and intact. Replete with black-and-white illustrations, 1478 illustrations in total (590 in Vol. I; 888 in Vol. II). Two color frontispieces included between the two volumes. Very Good gray paper-covered slipcase with tipped-in title labels (black and red lettering on white paper) on two sides. Slipcase has light age toning, slight wear to extremities, and two small stains on one of the labels, else clean and intact. A two-volume, revised and expanded edition of Bernard Berenson's famous reference work featuring a list of noted Italian Renaissance artists from the Florentine School and their artworks. Vol. I begins with a list of the principal Renaissance artists. The back part of Vol. I contains Plates 1-590. Vol. II continues directly from Vol. I and contains Plates 591-1478. The back part of Vol. II comprises a Note and the Topographical Index.
