James Weeks was a legendary painter for his vibrant colored still lives and landscapes, allied with Richard Diebenkorn and Elmer Bischoff to reject the prevailing style of Abstract Expressionism in favor of a more representational approach and professor at Boston University. Best known for his style of a “flattened” appearance, rigid figures, bold color palette, and powerful blending of interlocking forms. A respected artist that deserves all the praise.
