Near Fine octavo, 11 1/2" x 8 3/8". Hardcovers in red cloth over black backing with stamped gilt illustrations on black to the front panels, stamped gilt lettering to spines, and black and red speckling to edges of text block. Minor bump to head of Volume II. Very Good red paper slipcase, no lettering, some exposure to tips of the opening, minor sunning, rubbing to bottom edge, and light soiling.

Volume I: xiii, [2] 3-326 pp. Includes an Introduction by Laurence Irving and Parts 1-3. Volume II: [2] 239-629 pp. Includes Parts 4-6 and the Epilogue. Accompanied by the wood-engraved drawings of German-American illustrator and educator, Fritz Eichenberg. Translated by Constance Garnett. Signed by Eichenberg on the copyright page.
The Limited Editions Club was founded by publisher George Macy in 1929 with goal of delivering a monthly fine press edition of great works in literature, religion, history, philosophy, and poetry.
