Very Good + first edition in black cloth with Baldwin's facsimile signature to front panel in blue ink. Toning to front endpaper and blank pages before title, some dust stain to cover, mild bumping to head and tail, sharp tips, tightly bound, clean throughout. In a Very Good illustrated dust jacket, wear and closed 1/4" tear to top edge at head, shelf wear and scratches to front panel, toning to front flap, protected by paper-backed Mylar. Jacket and illustrations by Bernard Brussel-Smith, xviii, 121 + [3] pp. Baldwin's scathing second theatrical work created in response to widespread racial violence, based loosely on Emmett Till's murder and dedicated to Medgar Evers.
