Powell, William, New York: Lyle Stuart, 1971. Very Good - , tall quarto, measurements, 159 pp.

Very Good - softcover, stated second printing with 5.95 price to back cover, black wraps, edgewear and vertical crease to front panel, sunning to back panel, binding tight, interior clean, 159 pp.  Black-and-white illustrations, charts and photographs throughout. The infamous publication on DIY weapons, explosives, and illegal drugs, Powell wrote the Anarchist Cookbook as a protest against the Vietnam War, but later renounced it and attempted to withdraw it from publication. Often at the center of debates about free speech, this controversial collection of instructions was a revolutionary attempt to check power and corruption by putting the means of defense in the hands of the public. Overall, a sturdy copy and an artifact of the counterculture.
