Travis, David Chicago: The Art Institute of Chicago, 1976
English, Very Good 8vo 8 1/8" x 9 1/8", [1] 96 pp.

Very Good spiralbound light beige pictorial stiff paper photography exhibition catalog featuring Eugene Atget's undated black-and-white photograph "Fete du Trone" to front, Andre Kertesz's 1926 black-and-white photograph "Mondrian's eyeglasses and pipe, Paris" to back, black and brown lettering to front, minor wear to wrap around spiral wire binding, light sunning to panels, visible throughout textblock, otherwise unmarked with sharp tips, and tightly bound. [1] 96 pp., includes black-and-white photographs, most full-page, Preface, "The Julien Levy Collection of Photographs," Biographies of the Photographers, Catalogue of the Exhibition, Appendix, Footnotes, and Index. Published on the occasion of the exhibition "Photographs From The Julien Levy Collection Starting With Atget" at The Art Institute of Chicago from December 11, 1976, to February 20, 1976 [1977]. From the Preface: "If Julien Levy's name is unknown in the history of photography, the fault is not due to his natural modesty, but rather the sketchy and shallow research we have given to the history of photography between the World Wars. This catalogue attempts to record the passion and good judgement of a collector [Julien Levy] of photographs, whose influence has already been felt, although it has gone unrecognized."
