Very Good reprint poster with color illustration on white paper. Poster printed on one side; blank on verso. Poster is rolled. Poster has light age toning, slight wrinkling (more noticeable along extremities), and some tape residue on back, else clean and intact. An eye-catching and unique piece of Ringling Bros. history, a vintage 1970s reprint of a circus poster from 1916 that features "Big Bingo," a "two-story" elephant, as one of the circus's attractions. The color illustration on the poster shows Big Bingo in all of his glory standing next to a man dressed in traditional Indian attire, presumably his handler. Stylized text (the title), also in color, is part of the illustration. Copyright information printed at bottom on front. Originally printed by the Strobridge Lithographing Company which was in business from 1847-1958. The company is named after one of its owners, Hines Strobridge, who had become one of the business partners of the company's predecessor, Middleton, Wallace and Company. Many of Strobridge's lithographs were used to promote circuses and theaters.
