Very Good octavo 9" x 6 1/4", hardcovers in dark red leatherette on limp boards with stamped gilt lettering to front panel and spine. Minor wear and sunning, light interior soiling, some black crumbles throughout the set along corners and endpapers, otherwise attractive. Light annotations to Part Fifteen. Minor tear to page 23- 24 of Part Eighteen. Includes some black-and-white images and a few color images throughout to supplement the material, and marbled endpapers. Published by The Delphian Society, a Chicago-based organization led by Rachel Applegate Solomon that promoted the education of women, thereby creating one of the earliest examples of remote education that can be completed by women in their homes, at their own leisure. Parts One to Five are also labeled with "First Year." Part Nine is titled incorrectly on the binding as Part Five (without the First Year subtitle).
