Notes: Very Good, RARE, 11 1/2" x 9." Bilingual text in Spanish and English. Black-and-white pictorial paper folio with Velcro closure. Folio has illustrations of the artist's work on a black background. Text printed on inside of folio. Folding leaflet and nine loose color plates laid in. Folio has slight rubbing, slightly bumped tips, and moderate wear and wrinkling along edges, else clean and intact. Leaflet and plates pristine and intact. Leaflet contains the Spanish and English translations of the Introduction and an essay by Gladys M. Jimenez-Munoz. Plates show examples of the artist's work. Rare in the trade. Unpaginated, six pp. (leaflet folded into thirds and printed on all sides) + nine plates. Published on the occasion of an exhibition at University Art Museum, State University of New York at Binghamton. The show featured Juan Sanchez (b. 1954), an American artist who parents came from Puerto Rico. His works often incorporate various media such as painting, photography, and found images in print. He has used his art to speak out against the United States' sociopolitical policies and practices toward Puerto Rico. The exhibition was curated by Nancy Gonchar.
