Notes: Very Good 4to 9 3/4" x 11 1/4" hardcover art exhibit catalog in German and English with pictorial covers featuring a detail of Marlene Dumas' 1989-91 painting "Warhol's Child" to front and her 1992-93 drawing "Female No.127" to back, gray endpapers, white, pink, and gray lettering to covers and spine, minor chipping along edges, mild shelf wear to back cover, minimal sunning visible to pages, otherwise sharp tips, crisp pages and unmarked throughout. [5] 159 pp., + credits, replete with full-color images depicting nude figures and portraits of women amongst other subjects. Includes a Preface by Eberhard Garnatz, Foreword, three essays including "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Woman" by Matthias Winzen, "'Female' is always the same, 'female' is always different" by Oliver Kornhoff, and "Reverence and Respect" by Maija Tanninen-Mattila, full-page color images of 66 selected works from Dumas' group of drawings titled "Female" from 1992-93. This catalog was published in collaboration with Sammlung Garnatz and in connection with the exhibitions "Marlene Dumas - Female" at the Kunsthalle Helsinki, August 20 - October 8, 2005, The Nordic Watercolor Museum, Skarhamn, October 10 - November 13, 2005 and the Staaliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden December 17, 2005 - February 17, 2006. Marlene Dumas revisits "Female" and other works to continue with new art also shown in this catalog with additions of her early drawings and notes.
