Catalog published on the occasion of an exhibition of the same name, _Anish Kapoor_, that showed at the Hayward Gallery in London from April 20-June 14, 1998. A recurring theme in this show was the void. As the photographs beautifully illustrate, Kapoor's sculptures are as much about the empty space within as the surrounding medium and environment. Anish Kapoor (b. 1954) is an Indian-British artist who is part of the Conceptual Art movement. He is best-known for his biomorphic, large-scale sculptures made of one apparent material such as granite, limestone, plaster, and stainless steel. Among his most famous works is the stainless steel sculpture known as _Cloud Gate_ (2006) in Chicago.
