Full black wrappers with photograph of “Monumental Figure AD 600-900” and white lettering to front, white lettering to spine, full title page with Acknowledgements on back. Heavy shelf wear at top and bottom edges, front tips rubbed, crease near spine at top and bottom of front cover, head and tail bumped, spine is well worn, heavy sunning on edges throughout textblock, otherwise tightly bound and unmarked throughout. 96 pp. Replete with four full-color plates, numerous black-and-white illustrations in varying sizes, including the Development of the “Diving Bird” headdresses, The Culture Areas of The Mexican Gulf Coast and Chronological Table of Mesoamerica. Exhibition held at Hollywood Art Gallery at Long Island University. This book is full of excellent examples of Ancient Mexican sculpture form the Preclassic to the Postclassic eras.
