Bilingual text in Japanese and English. Beige cloth-covered boards in a pink and beige cloth-covered slipcase (beige on slipcase is from fading or offsetting). Gilt lettering on front cover and book spine. Slipcase has a tipped-in paper spine label with black lettering. Covers have slight age toning (most noticeable on spine), a few small stains, and slightly bumped tips, else clean and intact, binding tight. Slipcase is cracked along edges (but still holding due to cloth covering) and has fading and offsetting throughout, else clean and intact. Pages have light age toning and some of the tipped-in plates are coming loose, else pristine and intact. Replete with tipped-in color plates, 107 in total, and black-and-white in-text illustrations. RARE in the trade. A beautiful, comprehensive monograph about the art of bonsai. Perfect for the bonsai enthusiast. About the first 214 pages showcase examples of bonsai with brief accompanying text.
