Front cover bent at bottom corner, text block has some age toning and sunning, otherwise clean, tightly bound, pagination in English and Japanese. The Ronin, a novel based on a Zen myth, is a fictional retelling of an ancient Japanese folk tale about a vicious mercenary who ascends to the highest ranks and finds redemption. Jenning's classic story has been reprinted as recently as 2007 and developed into a wildly popular video game. As with all good Samurai stories, it begins with a bloodbath.

William Dale Jennings (1917-2000) was a prolific writer, playwright, traveler, member of the Mattachine Society, considered a pioneer LGBTQ+ activist. A rare artifact and a worth contribution to private collection.
