Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on front and spine. Gilt decoration of a fish on front. Covers have slight wear to edges and tips, minor rubbing, slight darkening, and small faint stains in upper and lower corners of fore-edge on front and back, else clean and intact, binding tight. Former owner's tipped-in sticker on front free endpaper, former owner's signatures in green ink on a front flyleaf, and light age toning throughout, else pages clean and intact. Front colophon: "This edition is limited to 1560 numbered copies of which 1500 are for sale; this copy is No. 1313." Principally plates, some of which are tipped in, with brief captions. A beautiful collection of illustrations showing drypoints, pencil drawings, watercolors, etchings, aquatints, and a tempera by William J. Schaldach (1896-1982), an American author and illustrator of hunting and fishing books. Each of Schaldach's artworks featured herein are an homage to different types of game fish, the fisherman, and the sport of fishing. Most of the plates show different fish. Introductions by Gifford Pinchot and John Taylor Arms. Foreword by William J. Schaldach.
