Ancient Hallstatt culture was a Western and Central European culture of the Late Bronze Age through the Early Iron Age from about 1200 BCE-450 BCE. The Hallstatt site is notable for containing numerous ancient burial sites and artifacts of Hallstatt culture which were well-preserved as Hallstatt is located on salt beds. Salt mining was used extensively by ancient Hallstatt culture.
