George Cruikshank (1792-1878) was a British illustrator and caricaturist whose popularity and technical skill earned him the nickname, “the modern Hogarth.” A charming presentation of Cruikshank’s watercolor illustrations in facsimile, within facsimile extracts of the following books they first appeared in: “Oliver Twist”, “The Miser’s Daughter”, and “History of the Irish Rebellion in 1798”, and “Emmett’s Insurrection in 1803”. This edition published by A. & C. Black, the prominent publishing house that is still in business to this day.
