Notes: Near Fine, 4to, 11" x 9 3/4." Black paper wrappers with color illustration on front. White and red lettering on front and spine. Covers have light rubbing, slight bend along front outer joint, and a few bumps to edges and tips, else clean and intact, binding tight. A few of the front pages are bumped on bottom edge, else pages pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color, most in color. 189 pp., including illustrations and Bibliography. Published on the occasion of a retrospective of Ernesto Deira (1928-1986), an Argentine painter associated with the Nueva Figuracion ("New Figuracion") movement. This movement eschewed abstraction as well as traditional figurative representation. Deira is perhaps best-known for his portraits of expressive figures.
