Multicolored pictorial paper wrappers with white lettering on front and spine. Two decorative transparent portrait flysheets in front and back. Covers have light rubbing and slightly bumped tips, else pristine and intact, binding tight. Pages pristine and intact. Replete with color illustrations. 78 pp., including illustrations. Beautiful catalog published on the occasion of an exhibition at Gallery Wendi Norris in San Francisco. The featured artist of the show was Dorothea Tanning (1910-2012), an American Surrealist, painter, sculptor, printmaker, and poet. Printed letter SIGNED by Wendi Norris, founder of Gallery Wendi Norris, to Whitney Chadwick laid in. Letter dated January 2, 2013 and on Gallery Wendi Norris stationery. Norris has signed at the bottom of the letter in blue ink. In her letter, Norris introduces the accompanying catalog and invites Chadwick to attend the exhibition and related events such as the opening reception and a table discussion. Printed price list also laid in. Letter and price list have slight bumping to fore-edge and tips, else pristine and intact. Norris describes the exhibition as follows: "This show presents a rare chance to view thirty paintings, soft sculptures and works on paper from the 1960s and 1970s during Tanning's time in France."
