A beautiful book replete with reprinted illustrations of artwork by Frans Hals. Table of Contents in the back lists the four sections: biographical study of Hals’s life, catalog of his art, genealogical diagram, and a list of plates. Frans Hals was a Dutch Golden Age painter. Hals became well-known for his individual and group portraiture of aristocracy.
