Dust jacket has almost imperceptible scratches and age toning, else pristine and intact. Pages pristine and intact. 38 pp. Publication no. 158 of the Book Club of California. A beautiful book authored by Ward Ritchie (1905-1996), an American printer, book designer, and book collector. Ritchie was part of the "Golden Age" of printing in 1920s and 1930s that took place in Southern California. He co-founded the Rounce & Coffin Club, a book collectors' club, with Grant Dahlstrom and Jacob "Jake" Zeitlin. Ritchie also founded the Ward Ritchie Press and designed over 750 books in his career. Back colophon: "This is the first book supported by the Special Fund established at The Book Club of California in the memory of Dorothy and David Magee. The book was designed by Ward Richie and the title page set in Goudy Scripps type with the permission of Scipps College. The text type of Goudy Deepdene was set by Mackenzie-Harris Corp.
