A catalog of 53 lithographic plates, in facsimile scale, depicting the woodcuts in Hans Holbein the Younger's _Dance of Death_ (or _Danse Macabre_) series. Hans Holbein the Younger (c. 1497-1543) was a German-Swiss painter and printmaker. He was a noted figure of the Northern Renaissance period. Holbein's _Dance of Death_ woodcuts are noted for their original take on a popular medieval subject and small-scale size. The series depicts the different ways in which the personification of Death takes the lives of people of various backgrounds and occupations. Plates are accompanied by brief text. Authored by Joseph Schlotthauer. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
