A catalog of works by Shoichi Ida (1941-2006), a Japanese artist painter, sculptor, and printmaker. Ida grew up in Japan during World War II and its post-war years. His signature "ceramic art-plates" depicted herein, among other works, consist of a layer of unglazed clay onto which he printed silkscreen imagery and then added a final layer of splattered, slip-like "mud clay." The mud clay adds an element of three-dimensional painting or painterly sculpture to his works. Edited by Shikosha Publishing Co., Ltd. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
