Beautiful catalog of mixed-media artworks by Ida Shoichi (1941-2006), a Japanese artist. Shoichi worked with printmaking (including silkscreen, lithography, woodblock, monotype, and etching), collage, and sculpture. He is perhaps best-known for his paper artworks and his _Surface Is the Between_ series, which this catalog features. Shoichi explained that the concept of "Surface Is the Between" ruminates upon the "point of contact" in applying media to the surface of paper, canvas, and the like and the layered orientation of making said artworks. Captions of artworks are exclusively in English. Essay by Yoshiaki Inui and Shoichi's chronology or resume are in English and Japanese. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
