Very Good folio, 13 1/8" x 9", hardcover in blue illustrated paper with a vellum backstrip, stamped gilt lettering and decorative illustrations to spine, painted blue top text block edge, and deckled edges. Minor discoloring and spots of soiling to spine, light wear to head, and some in-verso toning from reproduced engravings. Fair blue paper slipcase, multiple water stains, notable wear and splitting to edges, some repairs made with tape, otherwise, still intact and holding.

Introduction by American Romantic poet James Russell Lowell. Illustrated with reproductions of wash drawings and engravings by American artist Douglas W. Gorsline. Signed by Gorsline to the copyright page. 

The Limited Editions Club was founded by publisher George Macy in 1929 with goal of delivering a monthly fine press edition of great works in literature, religion, history, philosophy, and poetry.
