Near Fine, 4to, 11" x 10." Black, white, and gray paper wrappers with a black-and-white printed photograph of a tree on front. White lettering on gray spine. Covers have slightly bumped tips, minuscule edge wear, and a few scratches to front and back, else pristine and intact. Pages have slight wear to tips and bottom edge, else pristine and intact. A beautiful showcase of photography by American photographer James Welling (b. 1951). The photos are grouped by subject or theme; among them, Polaroids, light, Los Angeles architecture, railroads, the diary of Elizabeth and James Dixon, Connecticut landscapes, and abstract compositions. This catalog was published on the occasion of a solo exhibition that traveled from the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University (OSU), to Baltimore, and then to Los Angeles from 2000-2001. The Wexner Center for the Arts is the designated laboratory and gallery at OSU and is still open to this day.
