Original multicolored dust wrapper in mylar featuring a wrap-around illustration. No spinal text on dust wrapper. Pages and covers pristine and intact except for slight age toning to the pages. Dust wrapper clean and intact overall except for slight chipping to the head and tail, front flap being price-clipped. 146 pp., including over 100 printed photographs and illustrations. Index to illustrations in the back. John Piper (1903-1992) was an English artist and author who worked in a variety of media including painting, photography, printmaking, and stained-glass design. He was an official artist for the British government during WWII, depicting the damage to churches and landmarks.
