A beautiful book featuring the work of Italian artist, Amalia Glanzmann (1884-1976). Introduction by Silvio Benco. Arduino Berlam describes how Glanzmann's paintings feature historical architecture in the city of Trieste, Italy before they were demolished as part of a project to improve infrastructure. Many of these buildings dated back to ancient Rome and the Middle Ages, and Glanzmann's Impressionistic renditions of narrow alleyways, stair-stepped buildings, and open plazas offer a glance at parts of Trieste that have been significantly changed or exist no more. A lovely tome, scarce in the trade.
