Notes: Very Good 4to 11" x 8 3/4" white pictorial staplebound art exhibit catalog featuring black and color illustrations of letters and shapes, continued on back panel extends to accordion gatefold, opening to approximately 11" x 25 1/2," black lettering to right side gatefold spine, wear to edges of gatefold spine, minimal wear to edges and tips, light blue pigment transfer in-verso on front and back down center from accordion gatefold, otherwise, clean, tightly bound, and unmarked throughout. Unpaginated, includes essay "Poetic Justice" by American writer, actor, artist, and cultural critic, Gary Indiana, designed as an alphabet in 26 paragraphs, 15 full-page full-color photographs of mixed media chairs, and 19 black ink-on-paper drawings. Published on the occasion of the exhibition "Lucas Samaras: Chairs and Drawings" held at The Pace Gallery in New York from February 6 to March 7, 1987. From "Poetic Justice": "(A) Apply to the new drawings and chairs by Lucas Samaras the function of an emetic prescribed by a doctor who may not mean you any good. They work in a specific way, as a purgative for anxieties, or more exactly like a vaccination against the fear of pain, laceration, death - they give you little doses, hopefully build immunities." A beautiful and unusually produced exhibit catalog. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
