Laid-in ephemera included, a piece of paper with printed black text, possibly a calling card. Ephemera reads, "from Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro," which was one of the law firms of Oscar Sutro. One black-and-white frontispiece portrait of Oscar Sutro also included. 74 pp. + frontispiece. A collection of eulogies to Oscar Sutro (1874-1935), an American lawyer, bibliophile, and Executive Vice President of Standard Oil. Oscar was the son of Emil and Adelheid Sutro. Oscar Sutro rose to prominence as a lawyer and for being part of the noted law firm, Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, which had been co-founded by his brother, Alfred Sutro.
