Created on the occasion of traveling exhibition at Walker Art Center (February 6 - March 27, 1977), Denver Art Museum (April 15 - May 29, 1977), Fort Worth Art Museum (June 19 - July 31, 1977), Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse (September 11 - October 23, 1977) and the Baltimore Museum of Art (November 29 - January 22, 1978). Morris Louis was a central figure in the Color Field movement. Acquired from the private library of photorealist, Robert Bechtle and art historian, Whitney Chadwick.
