A beautiful and unique book made out of Dongba paper, prized for its durability and ability to hold ink for years without fading. Dongba paper is purported to last 1,000 years. It is made from the fibers of the Wikstroemia plant. With this book being made out of Dongba paper, the pages have visible plant fibers and a crisp texture with a nice, tactile quality. According to the Preface, this is the first illustrated book to be published on Dongba paper. Dongba paper is the creation of the Naxi (also, Nakhi or Nashi) people in northern China. The Nashi live near the base of the Himalayas in the Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces. This book is about the history of the Nashi people and highlights their customs, culture, and traditions. Authored by Bruce Lee. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
