Written by English poet, author, and journalist, Lord Alfred Bruce Douglas (1870-1945) who was a known friend and lover of Irish poet and playwright, Oscar Wilde (1854-1900). This biography was written in denial of his and Wilde's relationship in light of Wilde's letter "De Profundis," written whilst he was imprisoned for "gross indecency."
