Notes: Very Good, 4to, 8" x 10 1/2." Light gray paper wrappers with staple binding. Yellow lettering and color illustration on front. No lettering on spine. Covers have light age toning, a few small spots of dampstaining on front, and slight wear to extremities, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages have light age toning and a small spots of foxing or dampstaining on edges of text block, else clean and intact. Illustrations in black-and-white and color included. Gallery ephemera, a paper announcement for another show featuring the same artist, laid in with the following inscription in black ink: "Compliments of the Braunstein Gallery. Hope you get a chance to see the show. [signed] Ruth." 16 pp., including illustrations. Published on the occasion of an exhibition that was held from March 30-April 25, 1982 at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. The show featured the work of Russell T. Gordon (1936-2013), an African-American artist born in Philadelphia who later moved to Montreal in 1973 after becoming a visiting professor at Concordia University. Gordon is perhaps best-known for his abstract paintings and prints with a narrative that explores social politics. Essay by Sylvia Brown.
