First Edition, Very Good green cloth-covered boards. Covers have slight fading along edges and slight bumping to head and tail of spine, else pristine and intact, binding tight, sharp tips. Very Good green paper dust jacket, black lettering to spine. Dust jacket has darkening (most noticeable on spine), slight chipping to head and tail of spine, and several closed tears along edges (largest are on top edge of front panel and bottom edge of back panel, each measuring 1 1/4"), else clean and intact, not price-clipped. Dust jacket protected in a paper-backed Mylar sleeve. Pages have light age toning, else pristine and intact. Small black-and-white illustrations by Armin Landeck included. A poem by Mark Van Doren (1894-1972), an American author, poet, literary critic, and English professor.
