Includes an Introduction by Dan Millman, an essay by Senior Curator and Curator of Modern Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Robert Cozzolino, and an Afterword by Jasmine Moorhead and Travis Wilson. Sylvia Fein's work is here divided into sections including Early Works which were produced in the 40's and 50's, and are figurative and narrative, sometimes directly referencing myths and legends, then Land and Sea, created in the 60's and which explore landscapes and nature forms, then The Eyes, which were produced on her return to painting in the 2000's and 2010's and which are perhaps most in line with the image of surrealism as a style, and The Trees, which began as a memorial to her husband William Scheuber who died in 2013. This catalog was published in conjunction with an exhibition of the artist's work held at Krowswork Gallery in Oakland, California January 18 to February 22, 2014. Acquired from the private library of photorealist, Robert Bechtle and art historian, Whitney Chadwick. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
