This catalogue was produced by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in association with Thames & Hudson on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name held at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art September 8, 2007 to February 24, 2008, which then traveled to the Museum of Modern Art New York and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center April 13 to June 20, 2008, and finally to the Dallas Museum of Art November 9, 2008 to March 15, 2009. Olafur Eliasson is an Icelandic–Danish artist known for sculptured and large-scale installation art employing elemental materials such as light, water, and air temperature to enhance the viewer's experience.
